February was Black History Month, and we celebrated in style at Hallett! Thank you to Mr. Jay, Ms. Monáy, Ms. Deb and Ms. McMGrew and all the staff that supported them in putting together lots of activities for our Hawks.
Students got to learn from Judge Jill Dorancy, who walked them through a mock trial and answered questions. She is a great example of Black leadership and an inspiration to our students!
Students also celebrated with a Black History Month spirit week, and we started each day with a Black History fun fact on the intercom.
Finally, we closed out the month with a school-wide celebration! Ms. McGrew led our students in Black History themed songs, Student Council President Brandon Davis shared his own version of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech, and Stedman's step team taught our Hawks some moves.
At Hallett, we celebrate Black History in February and all year. We continue to be impressed by the Black excellence in our building. Go Hawks!
